You and your family are driving back home from the movies. Everyone is is a good mood, recalling the hilarious movie. Then you hear a cop siren, and your mom and dad exchanged worried looks. Your dad then quickly stops the car and tells your siblings and you to not make a sound and to keep your eyes down.
Your dad rolls down the car and a white officer approaches. He tells your dad that he was speeding and your dad, having his fiery temper, immediately says no. You want to agree with him, because you dad was driving 50 mph, but then you see the cops face. He then asks your dad to step out of the car. When your dad steps out, he is punched in the gut. The white police officer, signalling to his friend, saying " I'm not about to let a nigger correct me." Your dad gets a vicious beating by the two police officers, when their done your dad's face is unrecognizable. You're crying because you had to watch your father get beaten, but you cant do anything, because its 1949- before the civil rights movement. |
